The New York City subway system is one of the most efficient people transports in the entire world. Over 4.3 million people go through the turnstiles every day. The 468 stations serve 26 subway lines. Routes are identified by letters or numbers and serve Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.

The subway fare is primarily paid with the MetroCard.The card can be charged with any number of rides. Frequent travellers, can profit from the Unlimited Ride MetroCard. MetroCards can be bought at subway station booths, MetroCard vending machines, buses and vans, and neighborhood merchants.
