Bus

NYC Transit has the largest accessible fleet in the world. The 4,489 buses serve Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island. The daily ridership is estimated over 2 millions.

Bus stops are located at street corners and have a tall, round sign with a bus emblem and route number. The fare is paid upon entrance, with exact change (no dollar bills), or with the MetroCard. The buses stop about every two or three blocks.

If the fare is paid with the MetroCard, there will be a 20% bonus. The card can be charged with any number of rides. Frequent travellers, can profit from the Unlimited Ride MetroCard. MetroCards can be bought at subway station booths, MetroCard vending machines, buses and vans, and neighborhood merchants.
