More than any other building in the world, the Empire State Building represents the ambition of humans to build towers that reach for the skies. It probably is New York's best known landmark and dominates New York's skyline on many postcards.
It also features in over 90 movies - a star of gigantic proportions. Even King Kong visited the Empire State Building in the classic King Kong film 1933. Today this famous building welcomes more than 3 million tourists each year from 8am until midnight.

Besides the beautiful view over Manhattan, the Empire State Building provides 2 restaurants, a sushi bar, 3 coffee shops and much more.

At the time it was built on 5th Avenue, it broke all records and was dubbed 'the 8th world wonder'. Its 381 meters and 64 elevators (now 73) was topped in 1972, when the twin World Trade Towers eclipsed the Empire State Building.
