Peridance Center

Since its inception in March 1983, the Peridance Center has grown into an impressive international dance school, offering a broad curriculum of technique classes in ballet and modern at all levels, and workshops in more specialized areas of dance including choreography, music, notation, repertory, pointe, performance skills and more. The workshops augment technique classes and give students the opportunity to explore subjects otherwise unavailable outside of a university program.

However, there are not only traditional dance classes offered at the school: from African Dance to Capoeira, Breaking, Samurai Sword Fighting, Hip Hop or Yoga, Peridance's curriculum can satisfy almost every interest.

The dance school has a Teen Intensive Programm for teenagers ages 14- 18, and the PeriChild Program for children ages 2- 16. The Teen Intensive is a challenging three- week program of comprehensive training for tenagers. An audition is necessary to be accepted into this program. The PeriChild Program offers over 60 weekly classes. Each spring semester, the PeriChild Ensemble features its annual performance in a Manhattan theater.
