The restaurant takes its name from the Indian word "tabla," meaning a pair of Indian hand drums. Like a rhythm to the ear, the New Indian cuisine at Tabla is an experience to the senses.

There are two different rooms with different dishes each.
The Dining Room on balcony- level offers refined New American cooking infused with Indian spices. The Bread Bar, right on the bustling street level, serves home- style Indian cuisine. Both spaces are beautifully decorated in warm, rich colors and original mosaics.
In the Summer, guests can enjoy the views of Madison Square Park and the Flatiron Building from the restaurants's Patio.

Tabla emphasizes to use finest, seasonal, local ingredients and the menu changes daily, depending on what the chef finds while combing through the greenmarket and working with local farmers.

Tabla was established in 1998 and is part of the Union Square Hospitality Group.
