Scruffy Duffy's is a large barn like sports bar. Before the brother and sister team of Patrick and Eileen Hughes started the bar in the spring of 1991, it had been in the family as the "Bantry Bar" for ten years prior. The old Bantry Bar was an old style gin mill that served cheap drinks and hot lunches. When the owners switched, they made some renovations and changes, including the bar name, but not without carrying some of the old flavor over to the new bar: "Scruffy" was the best word to describe the bar it had become, the people in it, and the neighborhood around it and "Duffy" represented that little touch of Irish that they wanted to keep.
Next to the 12 premium draft beers and 12 bottled beers, the pub with mostly Irish staff has a selection of bar snacks, sandwiches, burgers, wings and salads on the menue.
Multiple monitors and a giant screen TV make Scruffy Duff's a good place to kick back and watch sport events. A juke box plays the tunes, and there's a pool table and dart to get busy with.
